***Gig Review/Interview***

I'm sorry there is not an audio interview with the sugarcult, this is due to technical difficulties i.e. the microphone wasnt turned on. Pictures will be up soon...

I spoke with Tim, Airin and Marko of Sugarcult before their gig at the Birmingham acadamy 15/12/03. Anyone who has met them know they're real nice guys. They all seemed keen to anwser the questions and have a great sence of humour.

When asked who has infliueced the bands song writing Tim jumped at making it clear the fans have had a big effect on their music. Among other great artist such as Elvis Costello and Nirvana, who Marko admires for their hard work and message through their music.

One thing I found from talking with Marko is how totally into the whole music scene he really is, from talking with the fans outside and inside the venue, to giving his all to talking to me and making sure he said what he really ment. Marko has had a big mark on the music scene that surrounds him. He's a legend.

Airin is a super cool guy, just talking to him after the interview, he still interested in chatting and just hanging out, having fun. Tony (Mest) is into his haveing a good time too, the atmosphere backstage during Good Charlottes performance esspecially was awesome, just everyone having a laugh.

Mest put on a hell of a show, 'Cadillac' was such a driving song, I just wanted to get into the pit and get fully into it. 'Hotel room' is another one of my favourites and that was total bliss to the ears. Talking with Nick was really cool, he's a super down to earth and fun loving guy. I love Mest for their unadulterated energetic music.

Sugarcults performance blew me away, they put their all into the show. The sound of the intro to 'Pretty Girl' sent shivers down my spine, sugarcult in such an amazing rock n roll band of our time. All their songs we're played so so well live 'Daddy's little defect' was another classic live performance. The atmosphere during their set felt as though every person in the venue had their total attention on them, attention that is due. I think they deserve as much credit as they can get for their music and attitude.

Good Charlotte put on a good show as always. It really gets to me all those fuck ass critics who give out undeserved bad press, Good Charlotte are punk no matter what those 'money driven' media shit fuks say. In regards to what happened at their Reading performance this year; all those who through bottles are either, jeolous or total disrespectful to musicans; Following the crowd and doing what the media thrive on. I expressed my opinion to Benji at the show, he said "we had a fun time anyway".
