A Friend Interview - 26-04-05
- With Gareth of FFAF -
- Questions by Chelsea Shelley -
1.
how did your band form/how did you guys meet?
We all met through local bands in the South Wales music scene. A few of us
had played in bands together before.
2.
how would you describe your own style?
I like to think of us a rock band with a twist. We all have different influences,
so it kind of like one big melting pot of everything we have listened to.
3.
who are your main influences?
Ourselves. We are constantly trying to better ourselves.
4.
If you had to chose one band to play a show with who would it be?
Iron Maiden again I think. that tour was ridiculous.
5.
What has been the best show you have played so far?
Reading
and Leeds Festival last year, 2 of the most proud shows I have ever played.
6.
Are you looking forward to the Give It A Name 05 tour and how did the tour
come about?
Fuck yeah! that day is gonna be fantastic. There are too many good bands playing
that day. It all came about when we were approached to do it by our Promoter.
We coulldnt resist! We have known about it for a long time so I am glad its
finally been announced, its been tough to keep that quiet!
7.
What's the best thing about being in a band?
Seeing the world. FOR FREE!!!! hahaha I know I would never of seen half the
places in the world if it wasn't for being in FFAF. It makes me appreciate
what we do so much more.
8.
Do you think a band have to look good to get attention from a record label
these days or do you think that a bands ability will always come first?
Not
at all. Look at us!!! We are far from fashionable and if we are then its not
intentional. None of us give a shit about our appearance. In the pop world
I suppose you do. But not rock music.
9.
What has been your worst show to date?
Um.......there are too many to choose from. Honestly. Um....the second kerrang
weekender. That was our worst nightmare!! Everything just wasnt working the
minute we got on stage! Horrible. just stood there like pricks for about 20
mins.
10.
If you guys werent in bands what would you be doing?
Um, I would be a guitar tech, there is no way I am staying at home. If this
band ever goes out the window, then I am staying on the road!e
11.
Any final messages to fans etc?
Thansk for all your support over the last few years, new record is on its
way. We'll see you soon.
